explanatory biblical quotes about this, let's take a look:

<span caught my attention that day when I started reading some testimonies within the virtual groups I frequented, and, having a friend who narrated exactly the same type of experience (fire all around, miracles… shouting!), I decided to research the subject further, and what I bring to you today is a revised version of the arguments presented in that topic. Going up the mountain… why? WHY DID JESUS GO UP THE MOUNTAIN? We can find several explanatory biblical quotes about this, let's see: And when he had dismissed the multitudes, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone. (Matthew 14:23, ref. Mark 6:46-47) And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God. (Luke 6:12) And it came to pass about eight days after these sayings, he took Peter and John and James with him, and went up into a mountain to pray. (Luke 9:28, ref. Mark 9:2) We can conclude then that Jesus went up the mountain to pray and, generally, did so alone: the only time he invited someone else—Peter, John, and James—He did so because, being God, He knew it was the singular moment of the transfiguration, that is, He was not going up just to pray! SO IS GOING UP THE MOUNTAIN TO PRAY A DUTY? To answer this, let's look at what Jesus Christ himself had already recommended: "And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you." Matthew 6:5-6 And then questions rain down: — But Christ gives such a clear command in this text… and did another? — Why didn't He also lock Himself in His room to pray instead of going up the mountain? — Was He a hypocrite? Here is a detail that most people seem to deliberately overlook: Jesus Christ did not have a room!!! This is proven by the following text: And Jesus said to him, “Foxes have dens and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.” (Matthew 8:20, ref. Luke 9:58) This means that Jesus went up the mountain to pray alone because He simply did not have a room that He could call His own, lock Himself in there and pray!! The problem today is that people no longer understand what they are reading and, being functionally illiterate, create absurd doctrines based only on small passages completely out of context! If going up the mountain were a biblical doctrine, we would certainly find more references and recommendations for doing so in biblical texts after the Gospels, but such an attitude ceases to occur in the rest of the New Testament: none of the other authors even mentions "going up the mountain" as a relevant model of worship, adoration, or prayer! Even before that, the only one who went up the mountain to do something important was Moses, but that occurred under the direct order of God himself: there is no reference whatsoever to prayer and, even worse, everything that happened there was highly private, with severe restrictions on public access: "And you shall set limits around the mountain and instruct the people: 'Take care not to go up the mountain, and do not touch its limits. Whoever touches the mountain shall surely be put to death. No one shall lay a hand on him; he shall be stoned or shot with arrows; whether man or beast, he shall not live.'" (Exodus 19:12-13a) Wanting to justify going up the mountain, some will always claim that "if Jesus did something, then we should do it to follow in his footsteps!" Now, that statement isn't wrong, but Jesus also spat on the ground to make mud and heal a blind man, Jesus walked on water, Jesus resurrected the dead… at this point I ask you to reread and remember what I already said in the study on anointing oil: God does not repeat himself! Going up the mountain… why? I WANT TO GO UP THE MOUNTAIN TO SEE THE SIGNS! And what about all the signs of wonder, healings, fire… all the supernatural things that happen while we are on the mountain? Please, let's stop being spiritual children and start reading the Bible more seriously! Those who seek signs and miracles call themselves followers of Jesus Christ, but they don't even bother to read the recommendations about the end times, made by the Son of God himself? So if anyone tells you, “Look, here is the Christ!” or ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. (Matthew 24:23-24) I also recommend reading 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12 and see that, after the departure of the Holy Spirit, the one who will perform great signs is Satan himself… and I have already addressed this subject here, and I cannot fail to mention what is clearly expressed in the Bible: those who need to see to believe are not blessed! CLIMBING THE MOUNTAIN… FOR WHAT? Certainly not to promote uproar, disorder, and shouting. Considering that, when tempted by Satan, the Lord did not throw himself from the heights, to say that he is invoking the power of God to defy the danger of climbing mountains, which—at least in Rio de Janeiro—were once tranquil and are now controlled by drug trafficking, in the name of an “evangelization” where the “convert’s” involvement in the world of crime will not cease… is pure stupidity! The Lord Jesus Christ prayed on the mountain for an extremely particular reason and did not recommend that anyone else do so: the Bible, as a whole, also does not make such a recommendation. If you, therefore, truly wish to follow the word of God correctly, I suggest that you keep in mind, in addition to Matthew 6:5-6 quoted above, the only explicit recommendations about suitable places for prayer: “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” (Matthew 6:10)

[464

post-3928","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-apologetica
["https://piorevangelho.online/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/sobemonte-1024x576.jpg",800,450,true
["https://piorevangelho.online/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/sobemonte.jpg",1920,1080,false
https://piorevangelho.online/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/sobemonte-150x150.jpg",150,150,true
https://piorevangelho.online/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/sobemonte-300x169.jpg",300,169,true
https://piorevangelho.online/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/sobemonte-768x432.jpg",768,432,true
https://piorevangelho.online/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/sobemonte-1024x576.jpg",800,450,true],"1536x1536":["https://piorevangelho.online/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/sobemonte-1536x864.jpg",1536,864,true],"2048x2048":["https://piorevangelho.online/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/sobemonte.jpg",1920,1080,false
https://piorevangelho.online/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/sobemonte.jpg",18,10,false
https://piorevangelho.online/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/sobemonte.jpg",1320,743,false
["GET
