Blood" is a 1985 film starring Jennifer Jason Leigh and the late Dutch actor Rutger Hauer (1944-2019), probably best known for an earlier film, the original Blade Runner, from 1982.
Set in medieval Europe, the film shows Hauer's character, Martin, leading a group of rebellious looters who—after refusing to serve the local monarch as mercenaries and being betrayed by him—seize a castle and are then pursued by the army commander.
The group even includes prostitutes (who indulge in carnal pleasures with the soldiers) and even a cardinal, who admits them to the Catholic ritual of communion (even with full knowledge of their dissolute lives) and does not bother to reprimand the illicit acts committed, his only concern being the search for supposed divine signs that will allow him and his companions to discover what they should do.

The catch is that Agnes (Jennifer Jason Leigh's character) is a lady engaged to the Monarch's son, Steven, who ends up being kidnapped by the group.
To rescue her, Steven pursues them along with the military until something unusual happens: Steven is captured and chained by the group, but throws a piece of meat from a dog that died from the Black Death into the well, thus contaminating the water that everyone will drink the next day.
Prostitutes are the first to feel the symptoms of the disease, they become desperate and start screaming: "It's the punishment for being prostitutes!".

CONSEQUENCES

This is the point we are called to reflect upon: although it is entirely inappropriate to associate a specific punishment with a specific sin (unless, of course, this has been foretold by God), the truth is that sins always have consequences!
Often, the consequences are not immediately or clearly associated with it, but there is simply no sin without punishment: even the most insignificant sins in the eyes of men had to be punished—in this case, in Jesus—so that forgiveness could be granted to all of humanity.

However, even if sin is forgiven, its consequences remain.
When a person commits a sin and sincerely repents, forgiveness is granted (because Jesus paid the price for that sin on the cross), but the consequences of what the person did will not simply disappear: someone who commits murder may receive divine forgiveness if they sincerely repent, but the victim of their act will not be resurrected, and the perpetrator will have to answer for it.
An adulterous couple who are surprised by a pregnancy may be forgiven, but the child will not disappear and they will be forced to face the consequences of their act.

A clear example of this is King David, who committed adultery and became involved in a murder plot (according to...). 2º Samuel 11).
After being confronted by the prophet Nathan, he acknowledged his sin, heard Nathan's declaration that he was forgiven, but the consequences of that act could not be undone: they range from the death of his newborn son (account in 2º Samuel 12) and two more later on — Amnon, who committed incest, and Absalom, who killed him and conspired against his father's kingdom — culminating in Absalom's degrading act of public sexual relations with his own father's concubines and his conspiracy against him to seize his kingdom, which also cost him his life (according to 2º Samuel 15-18).

NOTICES

Even before these events—which took place when Israel was already an established nation in its land—God had already warned the people about leaving "gaps" for sin to act.
In warning the people, who would soon enter the promised land, Moses reveals something that was essential for them to do: everyone should fight to expel the occupants of that land (which included those who had already received their inheritance), or they would end up falling into a trap, for they would sin against God by disobeying Him, and such sin would find them in the future, that is, there would be consequences (see Numbers 32:20-23).

It is known that Israel did, in fact, have problems with this — with the rebellion of the two and a half tribes who did not want to participate in the battle because they were already settled — and even after they eventually gave in, they did not completely exterminate the pagan peoples who occupied the land, as can be seen throughout the book of Joshua.
As a consequence, paganism was not eradicated from the midst of God's people's dwelling, and for centuries—as can be seen from the book of Judges to the end of the Old Testament—Israel became corrupt, was punished by the Lord, corrected its course, and then, in the next generation, ended up returning to paganism and idolatry.
The main consequence of all this, in the Old Testament, was the Babylonian captivity that lasted for 70 years and, even more serious than that, the inability to recognize the Messiah Jesus Christ, which persists to this day (see Luke 13:34,35; 19:41-44).
All of this brings us back to the important warning recorded by the apostle Paul:

Therefore, putting away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another.
Be angry, and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger.
Do not give the devil a foothold.
Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need.
Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.
And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

(Ephesians 4:25-30 – ACF)

Verses 27 and 30, in particular, must be highlighted: giving place to the devil—that is, tolerating small slips and falls into temptations that appear to be of little importance—is something that grieves the Holy Spirit and opens breaches for sin to "find" the Christian in the future, as is said in the words inspired by God to Moses.
The fight against sin must be relentless, even if slips and failures occur, because tolerating sin is like getting a spider web wrapped around your fingers: at first, a person can easily free themselves, but over time, their fingers can become so entangled that they will never be able to free themselves without help!

And sin—whose worst consequence is eternal damnation—has already been conquered by Christ, whose blood purifies us completely (see 1ˢᵗ John 1:6-9And although in the world we may suffer the consequences of sins (our own or those of others), with Christ this situation is temporary: the Lord God, by His grace, sent the Savior to deliver humanity from the worst thing that exists, the eternal death that sin brings.

In this way, may our lives be a constant battle against the sinfulness we still carry, so that the Holy Spirit who dwells within us may not be grieved, but may have full freedom of action to mold us more and more each day into the image of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, Savior.

In the Bonds of Calvary

Eduardo Pydd Teixeira

ORIGINAL TITLEYour sin will find you out.

We have seen so many ecclesiastical businesses that both They stopped calling sins by their name. How they have abandoned the call for sinners to repentance!
It's certainly to avoid displeasing (and risking losing) the paying audience: that's called... APOSTASY, one of the main evidence That the end times are rapidly unfolding, and before the Lord returns like a thief in the night, the prophesied reign of the Antichrist must be consolidated not only in Brazil, but throughout the world!

[464

post-20575","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-apologetica
["https://piorevangelho.online/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/runningsinner-1024x576.jpg",800,450,true
["https://piorevangelho.online/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/runningsinner.jpg",1920,1080,false
https://piorevangelho.online/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/runningsinner-150x150.jpg",150,150,true
https://piorevangelho.online/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/runningsinner-300x169.jpg",300,169,true
https://piorevangelho.online/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/runningsinner-768x432.jpg",768,432,true
https://piorevangelho.online/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/runningsinner-1024x576.jpg",800,450,true],"1536x1536":["https://piorevangelho.online/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/runningsinner-1536x864.jpg",1536,864,true],"2048x2048":["https://piorevangelho.online/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/runningsinner.jpg",1920,1080,false
https://piorevangelho.online/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/runningsinner.jpg",18,10,false
https://piorevangelho.online/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/runningsinner.jpg",1320,743,false
["GET
