One of the texts that clearly explains the human condition before God and which, unfortunately, also receives the worst interpretations, being used by those who like to demand more than others can handle \u2014 exploitative bosses, abusively strict teachers, and even civil authorities who believe that the people should serve the State, and not the other way around.
These people read and quote only the last part of the passage concerning the so-called "unprofitable servants":<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Which of you, having a slave plowing the land or tending sheep, will say to him when he comes in from the field:
\u2018'You can come right now, recline at the table to eat dinner'?
On the contrary. According to custom you shall say to him:
\u2018'Prepare my dinner, get yourself ready, and then come and serve me while I eat and drink; afterward you will eat and drink as well.'.
Should he thank the slave because he did what he was told?
Likewise, you, after you have done all that you were commanded, should say:
\u2018'We are useless servants, for we only do our duty!'.<\/p>\n(Luke 17:7-10 \u2013 KJA)<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

In light of this last verse, they argue that Jesus stated that "whoever only does what is required of them is a useless servant; therefore, you must do more than is required in your role.".
However, the meaning of the text, when analyzed within the entire context\u2014without isolating a single verse\u2014reveals itself to be completely different. Jesus speaks of a master who simply occupies his rightful place, being the priority and therefore the first to sit at the table, only then allowing the servants to eat their meal.
And the fact that the servants fulfilled their obligation, as Jesus says, is not something he needs to be grateful for, as it is inherent to their role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meaning of the text refers to the human being's situation before God: created to be a servant of his Creator, he has the responsibility to glorify God and not himself, because without the Creator, he is nothing, as the patriarch Abraham himself recognized as being only dust and ashes before the Lord.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Abraham argued:
\u201c"I dare to speak to my Lord, I who am but dust and ashes.".<\/p>\n(Genesis 18:27 \u2013 KJA)<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

In short, what this text says is that: even if human beings lived their entire existence 100% to glorify God, without ever failing or ever having a single moment of selfishness or egocentrism, and never placing their priorities and desires above those of the Creator\u2026 even then they would have done nothing beyond what they were created for.
Unfortunately, the truth is that not even the obligation that human beings have upon themselves is capable of fulfilling: not even the most fervent, selfless, sincere, and dedicated Christian can achieve the perfection that the standard of divine law demands!
Tiago states:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n

Therefore, whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.<\/p>\n(James 2:10 \u2013 KJA)<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

What is striking in this verse is the word "stumble," meaning that it is not necessary to fall, that is, to commit a deliberate sin: even if a sin is committed in ignorance\u2014because the person did not even know it was a sin\u2014this already makes them guilty of all of God's Law.
It's not hard to understand why.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Using a practical example: if a person walks through a room where another person has forgotten their wallet 49 times without touching it, but on the 50th time they take the money that is inside, this completely negates their previous 49 acts of honesty, and this person is not 49 times better than a thief, because just one theft is enough for them to become one.
It's the same as, for example, making a hole in a fence.
It doesn't matter if the rest of it is intact, because with just one hole, it no longer offers any security to those inside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Therefore, not even obligation\u2014due to fallen nature in sin\u2014is something that human beings are capable of fulfilling.
Human beings are even worse in the eyes of God's Law than the "unprofitable servant" referred to in the parable, for they do not even do what is their duty. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is precisely because of this total inability of human beings to achieve the perfection of the Law through their personal effort that Jesus was sent as the substitute for all humanity in fulfilling the divine Law, and He himself affirms this, saying that He did not come to abolish the Law, but to fulfill it (see Matthew 5:17-18<\/mark><\/strong>).
He did what no fallen human being could do: fulfill the divine Law perfectly.
And, as Isaiah prophesied 700 years before the crucifixion, the justice of God's Law had to be fully satisfied:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Truly he took upon himself our infirmities, and carried our sorrows;
And we considered him afflicted, struck down by God, and oppressed.
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities;
The punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.
We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way;
But the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.<\/p>\n(Isaiah 53:4-6 \u2013 ACF)<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Christ, taking upon himself what he did not deserve (the punishment for sins), did for us what we cannot (fulfill the Law) and won for us what we do not deserve (divine grace).
Thus, from servants even lower than the useless ones in the brief parable, Jesus made us children of God, being himself the firstborn among many brothers (see Romans 8:29<\/mark><\/strong>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have no merit to our part, for we haven't even fulfilled our obligation\u2026
In eternity, however, we will worship God perfectly, reigning with Christ for all eternity\u2026 and all by His merit, not ours.
Blessed be the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

One of the obligations of Christians should be to meditate on the scriptures at all times, but we live in a time when people seem incapable of even following the development of a line of reasoning, let alone believing in the future!
Such shallow personalities, satisfied only with immediate solutions, are just another example. indication<\/a> That the end times are rapidly approaching, and before the Lord returns like a thief in the night, the prophesied reign of the Antichrist must be consolidated not only in Brazil, but throughout the world!

(Lucas 17:7-10 – KJA) Diante desse \u00faltimo vers\u00edculo, alegam que Jesus afirmou que \u201cquem s\u00f3 faz o que \u00e9 obrigado, \u00e9 um servo in\u00fatil, portanto, voc\u00ea tem de fazer mais do que \u00e9 obrigat\u00f3rio em sua fun\u00e7\u00e3o\u201d.No entanto, o sentido do texto, ao ser analisado todo o contexto \u2014 sem se isolar um vers\u00edculo \u2014 mostra-se totalmente diferente, tanto que Jesus fala sobre um senhor que simplesmente ocupa seu lugar de direito, sendo ele a prioridade e sendo, por isso mesmo, o primeiro a sentar-se \u00e0 mesa, para s\u00f3 depois ent\u00e3o permitir que os servos fa\u00e7am sua refei\u00e7\u00e3o.E o fato de os servos terem cumprido sua obriga\u00e7\u00e3o, como diz Jesus, n\u00e3o \u00e9 algo que ele tenha de agradecer, pois \u00e9 algo inerente \u00e0 sua fun\u00e7\u00e3o. O sentido do texto remete \u00e0 situa\u00e7\u00e3o do ser humano diante de Deus: criado para ser servo de seu Criador, ele tem a atribui\u00e7\u00e3o de glorificar a Deus e n\u00e3o a si mesmo, pois sem o Criador, ele nada \u00e9, como o pr\u00f3prio patriarca Abra\u00e3o reconheceu ser apenas p\u00f3 e cinza diante do Senhor. Argumentou Abra\u00e3o:\u201cEu me atrevo a falar ao meu Senhor, eu que sou poeira e cinza”. (G\u00eanesis 18:27 – KJA) Em suma, o que \u00e9 dito neste texto \u00e9 que: mesmo que o ser humano vivesse sua exist\u00eancia 100% para glorificar a Deus, sem jamais falhar nem nunca ter um s\u00f3 momento de ego\u00edsmo ou egocentrismo e nunca colocar suas prioridades e vontades acima das do Criador\u2026 ainda assim ele nada teria feito al\u00e9m daquilo para o que foi criado.Infelizmente, a verdade \u00e9 que nem mesmo a obriga\u00e7\u00e3o que tem sobre si o ser humano \u00e9 capaz de realizar: nem o crist\u00e3o mais fervoroso, abnegado, sincero e dedicado consegue alcan\u00e7ar a perfei\u00e7\u00e3o que o padr\u00e3o que a lei divina exige!Tiago afirma: Porquanto, quem obedece a toda a Lei, mas trope\u00e7a em apenas uma das suas ordenan\u00e7as, torna-se culpado de quebr\u00e1-la integralmente. (Tiago 2:10 – KJA) O que chama a aten\u00e7\u00e3o neste vers\u00edculo \u00e9 a palavra \u201ctrope\u00e7ar\u201d, significando que n\u00e3o \u00e9 necess\u00e1rio cair, ou seja, cometer um pecado deliberado: mesmo que um pecado seja cometido na ignor\u00e2ncia \u2014 porque a pessoa nem sabia que era pecado \u2014 isso j\u00e1 a torna culpada de toda a Lei de Deus.N\u00e3o \u00e9 dif\u00edcil entender o porqu\u00ea disso. Usando um exemplo pr\u00e1tico: se uma pessoa passa por uma sala em que outra esqueceu a carteira por 49 vezes sem toc\u00e1-la, mas na 50\u00aa vez ela pega o dinheiro que est\u00e1 l\u00e1 dentro, isso anula totalmente os seus 49 atos de honestidade anteriores e essa pessoa n\u00e3o \u00e9 49 vezes melhor do que um ladr\u00e3o, porque basta um roubo para que ela o seja.\u00c9 o mesmo caso de, por exemplo, abrir-se um buraco em uma cerca.De nada adianta todo o restante dela estar inteiro, porque, com apenas um rombo, ela j\u00e1 n\u00e3o oferece mais nenhuma seguran\u00e7a a quem est\u00e1 do lado de dentro. Portanto, nem mesmo a obriga\u00e7\u00e3o \u2014 devido \u00e0 natureza deca\u00edda em pecado \u2014 o ser humano \u00e9 capaz de cumprir.O ser humano \u00e9 ainda pior diante da Lei de Deus, portanto do que o \u201cservo in\u00fatil\u201d ao qual se refere a par\u00e1bola, pois nem mesmo o que \u00e9 de seu dever ele faz. \u00c9 exatamente por causa dessa total incapacidade do ser humano em alcan\u00e7ar a perfei\u00e7\u00e3o da Lei por seu esfor\u00e7o pessoal que Jesus foi enviado como o substituto de toda a humanidade no cumprimento da Lei divina e Ele pr\u00f3prio o afirma, dizendo que n\u00e3o viera para revogar a Lei, mas para cumpri-la (veja Mateu 5:17-18).Ele fez o que nenhum ser humano deca\u00eddo em pecado poderia fazer: cumprir a Lei divina com perfei\u00e7\u00e3o.E, como profetizou Isa\u00edas 700 anos antes da crucifica\u00e7\u00e3o, a justi\u00e7a da Lei de Deus tinha de ser totalmente satisfeita: Verdadeiramente ele tomou sobre si as nossas enfermidades, e as nossas dores levou sobre si;e n\u00f3s o reput\u00e1vamos por aflito, ferido de Deus, e oprimido.Mas ele foi ferido por causa das nossas transgress\u00f5es, e mo\u00eddo por causa das nossas iniquidades;o castigo que nos traz a paz estava sobre ele, e pelas suas pisaduras fomos sarados.Todos n\u00f3s and\u00e1vamos desgarrados como ovelhas; cada um se desviava pelo seu caminho;mas o SENHOR fez cair sobre ele a iniquidade de n\u00f3s todos.
