Two painters were competing in an exhibition to see who could paint the picture that best represented the idea of "peace".
The first of them painted a picture depicting a serene lake situated atop a mountain where not even the wind moved, so that there were no waves, nor a single bird, butterfly, or dragonfly\u2026 everything was, according to the artist, in perfect silence: for him, this was the idea of \u201cpeace.\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second painter presented a work whose contrast with that of his competitor was striking: his painting depicted a very powerful waterfall, hurling enormous quantities of water into a lake.
Beside her, almost within reach of the foam and the raging water, on an oak branch, a sparrow was resting peacefully in its nest, without any concern for the fury of the waterfall right beside it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The judges unanimously agreed that the second painting better represented the idea of "peace".
And, knowingly or not, the winning painter expressed the idea of a peace that the world does not know: the peace of Christ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the eve of his crucifixion, Our Lord, having already declared to his disciples and future apostles what was about to happen to him, and that he would soon be physically absent from their presence, declared:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I leave you peace; my peace I give you.
I do not give it to you as the world gives it.
Do not let your hearts be troubled, nor let yourselves be afraid.<\/p>\n(John 14:27 \u2013 KJA)<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The idea of having "peace," spoken to people he already knew would be persecuted and cruelly martyred in the future, may seem completely absurd, but it makes perfect sense when one considers that the peace announced here is not the peace the world knows, but the peace of Christ himself, which is not given as the world gives it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The world only knows a peace that depends on circumstances: when things are going well and there are no wars, problems, or anxieties (situations that one doesn't need to think too much about to realize are very rare), the world and individuals in general feel that "peace" exists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, such peace is extremely fragile, fleeting, and at the first sign of adversity, it crumbles, allowing the cruel reality of a world far from God to invade life once more: the feeling of insecurity, of uncertainty, the burden of facing problems and unpleasant sensations takes over the human spirit, and the feeling of "peace" is soon forgotten.
And if this is already the reality almost all the time for people who are not persecuted or discriminated against because of their faith, how can we expect Christians, whom the world hates, to have "peace," as Jesus says?
That's precisely the point:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The peace of Christ is not like the peace of the world.<\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Unlike the peace the world offers, Christ's peace does not depend on external circumstances; it is something internal, based not on present events, but on the greatest of all events: the work of the Savior himself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Christian, being certain that his existence is not limited to his earthly life, has in his heart a great "trump card" to face whatever happens to him with another perspective, that everything that may arise on his path to the Father is temporary.
No matter how dire the circumstances, the Christian knows that, in the end, everything will be left behind, to finally take possession of the kingdom that has been prepared for the saved since the foundation of the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then the King will say to all on his right:
\u2018'Come, you who are blessed by my Father!'
'Receive as your inheritance the Kingdom, which was prepared for you from the foundation of the world.'\u2019<\/p>\n(Matthew 25:34 \u2013 KJA)<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Whoever truly knows this peace, even though not free from sadness and pain, for the world is still under the yoke of sin, has the certainty that nothing, however terrible it may be, will make them lose all that truly matters: eternity with Jesus Christ in the New Jerusalem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One can compare the peace of Christ to the feeling of a student on the last day of school: he doesn't mind having to get up early, go to school, have the last assignments to complete, even if they are the most difficult... he knows that this will be the last time and that soon he will enjoy his vacation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jesus was aware that both his disciples and those who would come to believe would face enormous difficulties and anguish on this Earth, but he made a point of emphasizing that the fury of the world, of sin, and of the devil against those who love him was something that had already been overcome, and that in him, all would have peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have warned you about these things, so that in me you may have peace.
In this world you will have trouble; but have faith and courage!
I conquered the world.<\/p>\n(John 16:33 \u2013 KJA)<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Therefore, may the peace of Christ guard our hearts and minds, so that one day we may enjoy the fullness of that same peace in eternity, where there is no more death, nor mourning, nor crying, nor pain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He will wipe away every tear from their eyes;
There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away!<\/p>\n(Revelation 21:4 \u2013 KJV)<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n\n\n

The turbulence that looms large over the "lake of the world" and imposes suffering on Christians is not illusory!
It's just another one. indication<\/a> That the end times are rapidly approaching, and before the Lord returns like a thief in the night, the prophesied reign of the Antichrist must be consolidated not only in Brazil, but throughout the world!

Os jurados foram un\u00e2nimes em dizer que o segundo quadro representava melhor a ideia de \u201cpaz\u201d.E, sabendo ou n\u00e3o, o pintor vencedor do concurso expressou a ideia de uma paz que o mundo n\u00e3o conhece: a paz de Cristo. Na v\u00e9spera de sua crucifica\u00e7\u00e3o, Nosso Senhor, j\u00e1 declarando a seus disc\u00edpulos e futuros ap\u00f3stolos o que estava para lhe acontecer, e que logo ele se ausentaria fisicamente de sua presen\u00e7a, declarou: Deixo-vos a paz; a minha paz vos dou.N\u00e3o vo-la dou como o mundo a d\u00e1.N\u00e3o permitais que vosso cora\u00e7\u00e3o se preocupe, nem vos deixeis amedrontar. (Jo\u00e3o 14:27 – KJA) A ideia de ter \u201cpaz\u201d, dita a pessoas de quem ele j\u00e1 tinha conhecimento que seriam perseguidas e martirizadas cruelmente no futuro, pode parecer um completo absurdo, por\u00e9m faz todo o sentido quando se leva em conta o detalhe de que a paz aqui anunciada n\u00e3o \u00e9 a que o mundo conhece, mas a do pr\u00f3prio Cristo, que n\u00e3o \u00e9 dada como o mundo a d\u00e1. O mundo s\u00f3 conhece uma paz que depende das circunst\u00e2ncias: quando as coisas v\u00e3o bem e n\u00e3o h\u00e1 guerras, problemas, ang\u00fastias (situa\u00e7\u00f5es sobre as quais n\u00e3o \u00e9 preciso pensar muito para se constatar que s\u00e3o muito raras), o mundo e os indiv\u00edduos em geral sentem que existe \u201cpaz\u201d. Por\u00e9m, tal paz \u00e9 extremamente fr\u00e1gil, fugaz e, ao primeiro sinal de adversidade, ela se desfaz, permitindo que a realidade cruel do mundo afastado de Deus volte a invadir a vida: a sensa\u00e7\u00e3o de inseguran\u00e7a, de incerteza, o fardo de enfrentar problemas e sensa\u00e7\u00f5es desagrad\u00e1veis toma conta do esp\u00edrito humano e a sensa\u00e7\u00e3o de \u201cpaz\u201d logo \u00e9 esquecida.E se isso, em se tratando de pessoas que n\u00e3o s\u00e3o perseguidas ou discriminadas por conta de sua f\u00e9, j\u00e1 \u00e9 a realidade em quase todo o tempo, como esperar que os crist\u00e3os, a quem o mundo odeia, possam ter \u201cpaz\u201d, como diz Jesus?\u00c9 exatamente esse o ponto em quest\u00e3o: a paz de Cristo n\u00e3o \u00e9 como a do mundo Diferente da paz que o mundo oferece, a de Cristo n\u00e3o depende de circunst\u00e2ncias externas, sendo algo interior, baseado n\u00e3o em acontecimentos do presente, mas no maior de todos os eventos, a obra do pr\u00f3prio Salvador. O crist\u00e3o, tendo certeza de que sua exist\u00eancia n\u00e3o est\u00e1 limitada \u00e0 sua vida terrena, tem em seu cora\u00e7\u00e3o um grande \u201ctrunfo\u201d para encarar o que quer que lhe aconte\u00e7a com outra perspectiva, a de que tudo que possa surgir em seu caminho at\u00e9 o Pai \u00e9 passageiro.Por piores que sejam as circunst\u00e2ncias, o crist\u00e3o sabe que, no final, tudo ser\u00e1 deixado para tr\u00e1s, para afinal tomar posse do reino que est\u00e1 preparado aos salvos desde a funda\u00e7\u00e3o do mundo. Ent\u00e3o, dir\u00e1 o Rei a todos que estiverem \u00e0 sua direita:\u2018Vinde, aben\u00e7oados de meu Pai!Recebei como heran\u00e7a o Reino, o qual vos foi preparado desde a funda\u00e7\u00e3o do mundo.’ (Mateus 25:34 – KJA) Quem, de fato, conhece esta paz, ainda que n\u00e3o esteja livre de tristezas e dores, pois o mundo ainda est\u00e1 sob o jugo do pecado, tem a certeza de que nada, por mais terr\u00edvel que possa ser, ir\u00e1 faz\u00ea-lo perder tudo o que realmente importa: a eternidade junto com Jesus Cristo, na Nova Jerusal\u00e9m. Pode-se comparar a paz de Cristo com a sensa\u00e7\u00e3o de um aluno no \u00faltimo dia letivo: ele n\u00e3o se importa em ter de levantar-se cedo, ir \u00e0 escola, ter as \u00faltimas tarefas para realizar, mesmo que sejam as mais pesadas\u2026 ele sabe que esta ser\u00e1 a \u00faltima vez e que logo desfrutar\u00e1 de suas f\u00e9rias. Jesus n\u00e3o ignorava o fato de que tanto seus disc\u00edpulos quanto os que viriam a crer passariam por enormes dificuldades e ang\u00fastias nesta Terra, mas fez quest\u00e3o de ressaltar que a f\u00faria do mundo, do pecado e do diabo contra aqueles que o amam era algo que j\u00e1 estava vencido, e que nele, todos teriam paz: Eu vos preveni sobre esses acontecimentos para que em mim tenhais paz.Neste mundo sofrereis tribula\u00e7\u00f5es; mas tende f\u00e9 e coragem!Eu venci o mundo. (Jo\u00e3o 16:33 – KJA) Assim, quer a paz de Cristo guarde nossos cora\u00e7\u00f5es e mentes, a fim de um dia desfrutarmos da plenitude dessa mesma paz, na eternidade, onde n\u00e3o h\u00e1 mais morte, nem luto, nem pranto e nem dor. Ele lhes enxugar\u00e1 dos olhos toda a l\u00e1grima;n\u00e3o haver\u00e1 mais morte, nem pranto, nem lamento, nem dor, porquanto a antiga ordem est\u00e1 encerrada!
