{"id":14984,"date":"2022-06-28T01:31:20","date_gmt":"2022-06-28T04:31:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/retro.piorevangelho.online\/?p=14984"},"modified":"2026-02-18T13:38:16","modified_gmt":"2026-02-18T16:38:16","slug":"authorities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/piorevangelho.online\/en\/autoridades\/","title":{"rendered":"Authorities"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"has-drop-cap has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">The year 2010 seems so far away that I even feel embarrassed to realize the great need to revive a delicate subject discussed at that time, the conclusion of which seems to remain unknown to many.<br>How many people, now in 2022, still have the ability to read?<br>And among these, how few still have the ability to understand what has been read?!?<br>The growing functional illiteracy, the almost absolute functional deviation of <a aria-label=\"ecclesiastical businesses (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/retro.piorevangelho.online\/2021\/11\/encerrando-ciclos\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"ek-link\">ecclesiastical businesses<\/a> The approach of another election presents opportune moments to introduce important arguments based on Scripture, which, in reality, has never changed and has become even more challenging and relevant than ever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">At that time I had not yet been affected by deafness, and after having escaped from <a aria-label=\"apostate contamination that consumed my original ecclesiastical enterprise (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/retro.piorevangelho.online\/portfolio\/uma-igreja-com-propositos-estranhos\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"ek-link\">apostate contamination that consumed my original ecclesiastical enterprise<\/a>, I was anxiously searching for another church where there was biblical soundness and where I could become a member\u2026 having even suffered a great deal (psychologically and even physically) from the successive disappointments.<br>In fact, I hadn&#039;t yet reached the understanding I now possess, and I worried about absurd things like the so-called &quot;spiritual covering&quot; because I was converted among ungodly people (without anyone paying a price to consolidate me), but even while walking in sin because I didn&#039;t fully know the Word, I kept praying and resisted setting foot in a church because of the slander that hangs in the mouths of the world.<br>And it was through prayer that God gave me a servant friend who belonged to a wonderful church where I currently attend, and I can say: It is ESSENTIAL to attend church because IT IS ESSENTIAL TO BE UNDER AUTHORITY!<\/em><br><em>Anyone who wants to be king and carry out God&#039;s plan in this life must first be a servant, as Jesus was.<br>Being submissive to someone with more experience, both in the Word and in life, to receive advice filled with the Holy Spirit is essential.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\"><em>You know that the heart is more deceitful than anything else, and that the sheep that does not heed the shepherd&#039;s call is considered rebellious and, becoming separated from the others, is easy prey for wolves!<br>This world lies in the power of the evil one, and those who are sheep cannot stray and wander through it, for they become easy prey.<\/em><br><em>Those who read this should remember Samuel, who, in a time when the Word of God was not on the lips of the priests, was faithful to his leaders and to God&#039;s work, being seen by God as his friend: how can someone who cannot serve those they see expect to be used by those they cannot see?<\/em><br><em>The Kingdom of God has come, and kingdoms are composed of hierarchies: open your eyes and see!<\/em><br><em>Ask God: How does God work? What does the Lord want for me?<br>Those who walk according to their dreams and their own strength are not worthy of Jesus!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\"><em>And, Te\u00f3philo, may God open the gates of heaven in your financial life in the name of Jesus Christ, the Nazarene!<br>And more than that, may it fill you with understanding each day, for nothing else matters in this world more than the presence of God in our lives: to obey, to serve, to honor = TO BE FAITHFUL.<br>Shalom Adonai!<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n<style>.wp-block-kadence-spacer.kt-block-spacer-_3f1ff5-da .kt-block-spacer{height:20px;}.wp-block-kadence-spacer.kt-block-spacer-_3f1ff5-da .kt-divider{border-top-width:1px;height:1px;border-top-color:#eee;width:80%;border-top-style:solid;}<\/style>\n<div class=\"wp-block-kadence-spacer aligncenter kt-block-spacer-_3f1ff5-da\"><div class=\"kt-block-spacer kt-block-spacer-halign-center\"><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">I sincerely saw pure intentions in those words and loved this young reader, and even though I was almost certain that my response would deeply displease him, I decided to present arguments truly based on Scripture in the expectation that the Holy Spirit would act and give...<mark class=\"annotation-text annotation-text-jetpack-tweetstorm\" id=\"annotation-text-b645b1d6-422b-4244-8a0b-b1e46436d34e\"> <\/mark>An understanding capable of changing this passionate and irrational discourse in defense of the authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">THE ROLE OF AUTHORITY<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">May the peace of the Lord be with you!<br>I don&#039;t mean to offend anyone, but I need to say what the Holy Spirit tells me to say, because God loves you and is using me to tell you this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#9b51e0\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Everyone must submit to the governing authorities;<br>For there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.<br>Therefore, whoever refuses to submit to authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.<br>Because rulers should not be a source of fear for those who do good, but for those who do evil.<br>Don&#039;t you want to feel threatened by authority?<br>Do good, and she will honor you. <span class=\"uppercase\">For she serves God for your good.<\/span>.<br>But if you do evil, be afraid, for it is not in vain that he bears the sword. <span class=\"uppercase\">She is a servant of God, an agent of justice to punish those who do evil.<\/span>.<br>Therefore, it is essential that we submit to the authorities, not only because of the possibility of punishment, but also because of our conscience.<br>For this reason, you also pay taxes;<br>Because the authorities are at God&#039;s service, and their job is to continually care for society.<br>Give to everyone what you owe them: if you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.<\/mark><\/p><cite><em>(Romans 13:1-7 \u2013 KJA)<\/em><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">These words are from the apostle Paul, and I ask that you pay attention to the passage highlighted in capital letters, because authorities are used by God for our GOOD!<br>It was certainly the Lord God himself who established ORDER, KINGDOMS, and HIERARCHIES to be respected and followed in governments, in the Church, and everywhere else: even in the animal kingdom, it is clearly seen who is the leader of the herds, flocks, packs\u2014or whatever collective\u2014to whom all others submit.<br>Similarly, it is quite clear in the passage above that the minister\u2014or power or authority\u2026\u2014only exercises such a role under the hand of the Lord God as long as he does so in the sense of doing good: from the moment he succumbs to his own \u201cpowers\u201d and becomes subverted, going on to promote and practice anything that is not good\u2026 there are clear instructions about this in the Scriptures:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#9b51e0\" class=\"has-inline-color\">However, now I am writing to you not to associate with anyone who,<\/mark><br><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#9b51e0\" class=\"has-inline-color\"><span class=\"uppercase\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">claiming to be a brother<\/span>, for immoral or greedy, idolatrous or slanderous, drunkard or swindler<\/span>.<\/mark><br><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#9b51e0\" class=\"has-inline-color\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">With people like that <span class=\"uppercase\">You shouldn&#039;t even sit down for a meal.<\/span><\/span>.<\/mark><\/p><cite><em>(1\u02e2\u1d57 Corinthians 5:11 \u2013 KJA)<\/em><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">SUBMISSION LIMITS<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">I found your quote from the Lord Jesus Christ perfect because in Him we find the most perfect and extreme example of submission, for even though He was God, He accepted to submit to the rudimentary and flawed human laws in order to fulfill in Himself the plan of eternal redemption.<br>However, there are certain moments in his life, duly recorded in the Scriptures, that we should observe:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">CHRIST<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\"><span class=\"uppercase\"><strong>1. At only twelve years old<\/strong><\/span> He already demonstrated enough wisdom to preach to the wise men of the temple, yet even though he was skilled enough to &quot;outsmart&quot; any human being... see what is written about his behavior after his mother found him:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#9b51e0\" class=\"has-inline-color\">However, He went with them to Nazareth, <span class=\"uppercase\">because he was obedient to them.<\/span>.<\/mark><br><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#9b51e0\" class=\"has-inline-color\">His mother, however, silently pondered all these events in her heart.<\/mark><\/p><cite><em>(Luke 2:51 \u2013 KJA)<\/em><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">Who holds authority (and assumes responsibility) over a child&#039;s life?<br>Although socialists and communists today are eager for the State to assume this role, it is natural, historical, and biblical that such responsibilities are linked to fathers and mothers, and there would simply be no purpose in breaking such an order: Christ, even aware that he was the son of God, simply obeyed, finished his preaching, and left!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\"><span class=\"uppercase\"><strong>2. Later<\/strong><\/span>, After his baptism (when his authority had already been directly confirmed by God), he was sent into the desert and tempted by the Devil himself for forty days. From this account we can transcribe the very important passage:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#9b51e0\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Then the Devil took him to a very high place and showed him, in a fraction of time, <span class=\"uppercase\">all the kingdoms of the world<\/span>.<\/mark><br><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#9b51e0\" class=\"has-inline-color\">And he proposed to her:<\/mark><br><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#9b51e0\" class=\"has-inline-color\">\u201c&quot;I will give you all the power over them and all the glory of these kingdoms, <span class=\"uppercase\">because they were given to me and I have the authority to give them to whomever I see fit.<\/span>.<\/mark><br><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#9b51e0\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Therefore, if you will bow down and worship me, all of this will be yours!\u201d<\/mark><br><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#9b51e0\" class=\"has-inline-color\">However, Jesus said to him:<\/mark><br><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#9b51e0\" class=\"has-inline-color\">\u201c&quot;It is written: &#039;You shall worship the Lord your God and Him only shall you serve.&#039;&quot;.<\/mark><\/p><cite>(Luke 4:5-8 \u2013 KJA)<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">There is so much information to be observed in this passage that a complete analysis would even encompass geopolitics, but for now, let&#039;s limit ourselves to highlighting that Christ didn&#039;t even bother to refute or confront the Devil regarding the powers he claimed to possess: he simply DISOBEYED HIS AUTHORITY and resisted his proposal based on the Scriptures!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">We can add the recurring episode in <strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#9b51e0\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Luke 6:1-5<\/mark><\/strong> as another example of the most spontaneous \u201crebellion\u201d against laws established by authorities while, in an apparent paradox, demonstrating absolute humility (and omniscience) in <strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#9b51e0\" class=\"has-inline-color\">John 13<\/mark><\/strong>\u2026and the lesson to be learned from these episodes is extremely important:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<style>.wp-block-kadence-spacer.kt-block-spacer-_dcfe48-58 .kt-block-spacer{height:20px;}.wp-block-kadence-spacer.kt-block-spacer-_dcfe48-58 .kt-divider{border-top-width:1px;height:1px;border-top-color:#eee;width:80%;border-top-style:solid;}<\/style>\n<div class=\"wp-block-kadence-spacer aligncenter kt-block-spacer-_dcfe48-58\"><div class=\"kt-block-spacer kt-block-spacer-halign-center\"><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">PEDRO<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">The apostle Peter had to deal with this same type of conflict after Christ&#039;s departure and made it very clear how true Christians should proceed when the apostles, miraculously freed from prison\u2014and instead of fleeing, decided to go and preach the Gospel in the courtyard of the church.<mark class=\"annotation-text annotation-text-jetpack-tweetstorm\" id=\"annotation-text-380c07fd-e01f-4810-8423-2da11114e1b8\"> <\/mark>The disused Temple\u2014was brought to the authorities:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><span class=\"tadv-color\" style=\"color:#9b51e0\">And after bringing them in, they presented them to the Sanhedrin.<\/span><br><span class=\"tadv-color\" style=\"color:#9b51e0\">And the high priest questioned them:<\/span><br><span class=\"tadv-color\" style=\"color:#9b51e0\">\u201c<span class=\"uppercase\">Did we not expressly command you not to preach in that Name?<\/span><\/span><br><span class=\"tadv-color\" style=\"color:#9b51e0\">&quot;Yet you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and are determined to make us guilty of this man&#039;s blood?&quot;\u201d<\/span><br><span class=\"tadv-color\" style=\"color:#9b51e0\">Peter and the other apostles replied:<\/span><br><span class=\"tadv-color\" style=\"color:#9b51e0\">\u201c<span class=\"uppercase\">It is necessary that <span class=\"underline\" style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Let us obey God first, then human authorities.<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/p><cite>(Acts 5:27-29 \u2013 KJA)<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">The context in which this passage occurred allows for even broader reflections, less perceptible to most Christians today, but\u2014just as the men currently called &quot;pastors&quot; are not unquestionable\u2014ecclesiastical enterprises are following a trajectory of open rupture against the true Church of Christ, and I invite the reader to reflect on this by reading another article entitled \u201c<a aria-label=\"Closing Cycles (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/retro.piorevangelho.online\/2021\/11\/encerrando-ciclos\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"ek-link\">Closing Cycles<\/a>\u201c&quot;Because it is a topic that perfectly complements what is being discussed here.&quot;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">PAUL<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">Young Saul grew up among the Pharisees, was a follower and profound scholar of the law of the prophets and the Torah, and, in the utmost obedience to the authorities and perfectly within the law, <span id=\"su_tooltip_6ab07211155ec_button\" class=\"su-tooltip-button su-tooltip-button-outline-yes annotation-text annotation-text-jetpack-tweetstorm\" aria-describedby=\"su_tooltip_6ab07211155ec\" data-settings='{\"position\":\"top\",\"behavior\":\"hover\",\"hideDelay\":0}' tabindex=\"0\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>It was devastating the Church.<\/em><\/span><\/span><span style=\"display:none;z-index:100\" id=\"su_tooltip_6ab07211155ec\" class=\"su-tooltip annotation-text annotation-text-jetpack-tweetstorm\" role=\"tooltip\"><span class=\"su-tooltip-inner su-tooltip-shadow-no\" style=\"z-index:100;background:#222222;color:#FFFFFF;font-size:16px;border-radius:5px;text-align:left;max-width:400px;line-height:1.25\"><span class=\"su-tooltip-title\">Acts 8:3 - KJA<\/span><span class=\"su-tooltip-content su-u-trim\">Tooltip content<\/span><\/span><span id=\"su_tooltip_6ab07211155ec_arrow\" class=\"su-tooltip-arrow\" style=\"z-index:100;background:#222222\" data-popper-arrow><\/span><\/span> and threatened to kill all the followers of the Lord Jesus Christ, including the disciples.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#9b51e0\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Meanwhile, Saul was still breathing out murderous threats against the Lord&#039;s disciples.<br>Going to the high priest, he asked him for letters to the synagogues in Damascus, so that if he found any men or women there who belonged to the Way, he would be authorized to bring them as prisoners to Jerusalem.<\/mark><\/p><cite>(Acts 9:1-4 \u2013 KJA)<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">Contrary to what it is <a aria-label=\"necessary in our times (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/retro.piorevangelho.online\/2020\/10\/tautologia-da-maior-bem-aventuranca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"ek-link\">necessary in our times<\/a>, Saul&#039;s conversion was miraculous and, if we observe carefully, it occurred not only outside of, but completely against his will: he never planned to be among that rebellion of outlaws whom he longed to kill. The sovereign and supernatural operation of God not only subverted his convictions, but placed him, from his &quot;Christian birth,&quot; precisely alongside those he so hated!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#9b51e0\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Immediately, something like scales fell from his eyes, and he could see again.<\/mark><br><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#9b51e0\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Then he got up and was baptized.<\/mark><br><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#9b51e0\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Soon after, Saul began preaching in the synagogues that Jesus is the Son of God.<\/mark><\/p><cite>(Acts 9:18-20 \u2013 KJA)<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">It was not Saul&#039;s initiative, but God himself arranged for him to absorb knowledge directly from the disciples who, not without reason, still feared him because of his former reputation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#9b51e0\" class=\"has-inline-color\">As soon as he arrived in Jerusalem, he sought to join the disciples there.,<\/mark><br><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#9b51e0\" class=\"has-inline-color\">However, everyone was frightened and afraid of him, because they could not believe that Saul was a true disciple.<\/mark><br><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#9b51e0\" class=\"has-inline-color\">But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles and told them how Saul had seen the Lord on the road, and that the Lord had spoken to him, and how in Damascus he had preached boldly in the name of Jesus.<\/mark><\/p><cite>(Acts 9:26-27 \u2013 KJA)<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">The passage above recounts exactly when Barnabas appears, who\u2014using the words of his message\u2014&quot;paid the price&quot; to &quot;be the authority&quot; over the life of the future last apostle, bringing him to himself, teaching him, and making him his disciple:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#9b51e0\" class=\"has-inline-color\">And it happened that Barnabas decided to travel to Tarsus to meet Saul.<\/mark><br><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#9b51e0\" class=\"has-inline-color\">And when he found it, he took it with him to Antioch.<\/mark><br><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#9b51e0\" class=\"has-inline-color\">So, for a whole year, Barnabas and Saul met with that church and taught a great many people.<\/mark><br><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#9b51e0\" class=\"has-inline-color\">In Antioch, the disciples were first called Christians.<\/mark><\/p><cite>(Acts 11:25-26 \u2013 KJA)<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">At the beginning of that Christian life, we can see mention of &quot;Barnabas and Saul&quot; in several passages (<strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#9b51e0\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Acts 11:30<\/mark><\/strong> \/ <strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#9b51e0\" class=\"has-inline-color\">12:25<\/mark><\/strong> \/ <strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#9b51e0\" class=\"has-inline-color\">13:2<\/mark><\/strong>This allows us to understand that Barnabas was ahead of Paul, meaning: wherever Barnabas went, his disciple was there!<br>It is interesting to note that in all these passages the reference mentions the name &quot;Saul,&quot; that is, the old man, the man who still had a long way to go.<br>And, in fact, it is only from <strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#9b51e0\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Acts 13:9<\/mark><\/strong> ...and from the bold rebuke delivered against Elymas the magician, his name came to be spelled &quot;Paul&quot; and, a detail little commented on but quite relevant to the topic we are addressing, from then on... <strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#9b51e0\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Acts 13:43<\/mark><\/strong> we see the quotation from \u201cPaul and Barnabas\u201d (repeated in <strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#9b51e0\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Acts 14:1<\/mark><\/strong>In other words, the disciple not only received a diploma but, more than that, became a leader\u2026 an authority!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">Unlike modern pastors who cultivate subservient individuals (as they do to secure a living for their entire lives), Barnabas was such a good and authoritative instructor that his disciple achieved such a capacity for expressing the Gospel that the crowd in the city of Lystra mistakenly came to consider him the incarnation of one of the gods of the Greek pantheon!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#9b51e0\" class=\"has-inline-color\">In light of what Paul had done, the crowd began to shout:<\/mark><br><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#9b51e0\" class=\"has-inline-color\">\u201c&quot;The gods have descended to us in the form of human beings!&quot;\u201d<\/mark><br><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#9b51e0\" class=\"has-inline-color\">And so, they gave Barnabas the name Zeus,<\/mark><br><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#9b51e0\" class=\"has-inline-color\">And they called Paul Hermes, because he was the one who spoke with power.<\/mark><\/p><cite>(Acts 14:11-12 \u2013 KJA)<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">Finally, once Paul had reached the maturity of his faith, we encounter another very important class=\"has-inline-color\">And Barnabas wanted John, also called Mark, to accompany them.<\/mark><br><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#9b51e0\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Paul, however, could see no reason to take with them the one who had decided to leave them in Pamphylia and had not accompanied them to the end of the mission.<\/mark><br><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#9b51e0\" class=\"has-inline-color\">For this reason, they had such a heated disagreement that they decided to separate.<\/mark><br><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#9b51e0\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Barnabas left, taking Mark with him, and they sailed to Cyprus.<\/mark><br><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#9b51e0\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Paul, however, preferred the company of Silas, and departed entrusted to the Lord&#039;s care by the brothers.<\/mark><\/p><cite>(Acts 15:36-40 seven.<\/a>?<br>But if Paul did not accept his leader&#039;s vision, then he rebelled... and rebellion is witchcraft!!!<br>Paul was left without <a href=\"https:\/\/estiloadoracao.com\/cobertura-espiritual\/\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"spiritual covering (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"ek-link\">spiritual covering<\/a>?!?<br>The truth is that\u2014similar to Rahab, who believed in God without seeing any sign, hid the Israelite spies from the authorities in Jericho, and therefore survived to be the mother of Boaz, the great-grandmother of David, and to be included in the genealogy of the Lord Jesus Christ himself!\u2014Barnabas fulfilled his role, and is later mentioned in a realistic recollection by Paul:<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#9b51e0\" class=\"has-inline-color\">But when Peter arrived in Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he stood condemned.<\/mark><br><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#9b51e0\" class=\"has-inline-color\">For before certain men came from James, he used to eat with the Gentiles;<\/mark><br><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#9b51e0\" class=\"has-inline-color\">However, when they arrived, Peter began to withdraw and separate himself from the uncircumcised, solely because he was afraid of those who advocated afflicted Barnabas was not even mentioned: the complete and unomitted account is, far from any offensive intention, a legacy so that future generations of Christians will not be afraid to promote the I sincerely saw pure intentions in these words and I loved this young reader, and even though I was almost certain that my response would deeply displease him, I decided to present arguments truly based on Scripture in the expectation that the Holy Spirit would act, giving understanding capable of changing this passionate and irrational discourse in defense of authorities. THE ROLE OF AUTHORITY The peace of the Lord be with you! I am not trying to offend anyone, but I need to say what the Holy Spirit tells me to say, because God loves you and is using me to tell you this: Everyone must submit to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. And those that exist have been ordained by God. Therefore, whoever refuses to submit to the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, for he is God\u2019s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword in vain. They are God\u2019s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer.
