The Purification

Normalizing mistakes will not turn them into successes.

In 2013, the film "The Purge" was released — whose literal translation is "The Purification" or "The Cleansing," and which became known in Brazil as "Uma Noite de Crime" (A Night of Crime) — where we see an American society dominated by a dystopian government that, despite controlling the entire society with an iron fist, is accepted because it gives citizens what they want: security, sustenance, and peace.
However, this last point has a brief but very important exception: for one night a year, that is, for 12 hours, all crimes in the country — even the most barbaric ones, such as rape, murder, and robbery! — are completely legal, so that anyone who commits them within that time frame will not be considered a criminal nor will they face any kind of legal process, imprisonment, fine, or any type of punishment.
However, anyone who retaliates against any crime committed during this period, acting outside of it, will be punished.

As mentioned, this dark night is known as "The Purge," a period in which citizens can indulge their wildest instincts without any restraint from the authorities.
Therefore, it is common to see "friends" betraying and even killing each other on this night, showing that there is no real "friendship" between them.
The most ethical families and citizens do not get involved with the "Purge" night and, seeking their own protection, prefer to lock themselves in their homes, reinforcing doors and windows with heavy locks and plates of stone or metal... which doesn't always work, because those who let themselves be dominated by instincts are allowed to break into and even destroy other people's homes, generally using tractors and chains to open doors and attack the residents!

At the end of those 12 hours, all anti-crime laws are reinstated and, according to the film, crime is close to zero in the United States for the rest of the year, as all the accumulated tension was released on "Purge" night, allowing citizens to lead a peaceful life, without pressure or oppression... at least until the next "Purge night" arrives.

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked;
Who will know him?

(Jeremiah 17:9 – ACF)

Although the film's premise has its merits — especially considering the fact that it exposes, as quoted above (from the prophet Jeremiah), the intrinsic wickedness of the human heart fallen into sin and which causes it to accumulate the worst feelings within — it fails to consider that providing such a "release of tension" could make people less aggressive throughout the rest of the year.
The apostle Paul says that there is nothing good in the flesh, that is, in human nature (see Romans 7:18).
Thus, the accumulation of spiritual filth and decay is never completely purged; it soon forms again, and I don't believe I'm wrong in stating that if such an experiment were conducted in the real world, instead of waiting a year for the next "Purge," people would soon be demanding that it happen more and more frequently: possibly, to say the least, even once a week!
For those who have faith and seek to understand the Scriptures, it is impossible to believe that there is any inherent goodness or "restraint" in human beings capable of containing their own wickedness…

The Italian philosopher, Niccolò Machiavelli, known in Portuguese-speaking countries as Niccolò Machiavelli, defined the true human condition in a very explicit way: “Man is evil by nature, unless he needs to be good.”.
In fact, what makes most people appear "good" is not their nature, but necessity.
If there is no one with the civil authority to punish evil, any society will soon descend into barbarism, fulfilling the film's plot not just for 12 hours over the course of a year, but turning it into reality itself.

Such a condition — as Paul says in the previously mentioned verse from Romans, the conclusion of which is “The desire to do good is in me, but not the ability to carry it out.”"— cannot be modified by human effort.".
The very fact that a person desires good is something that does not originate from within them, but from divine grace, which, incidentally, was able to transform the heart of a man who harbored an indomitable hatred against Christians into one that made him the greatest evangelist in history.
Even the most “beautiful” acts in human eyes, if performed by an unconverted heart, are nothing but filth in the eyes of God (see Isaiah 64:6).

Therefore, only a true child of God, transformed by the Holy Spirit, is capable of performing acts that please the Creator.
Only through Christ and his sacrifice on the cross is it possible for human beings to "purge" or "purify" their good works.
However, even for a Christian it is impossible to present their works before God without them being stained by the sinfulness of the flesh: only through Christ are these imperfect spiritual sacrifices "corrected," "purified," and thus, as Peter says, accepted by the Father.

You also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

(1 Peter 2:5 – ACF)

The only true cleansing that can happen is not the one presented in the film, but the one performed by Christ on the Cross, who paid the price for all the sins of humanity.
Although Christians are not yet free from sin, it is only a matter of time: nothing defiled will ever enter the New Jerusalem again, for the ultimate purification will be complete.

Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

(Revelation 21:27 – ACF)

I apologize for my absence, but the Lord has allowed good changes to occur in my life, and indeed, to fulfill any responsibility we cannot merely act: especially as a Christian, we must be fully capable—in knowledge and practice—to perform the role assigned to us.
I'm on a learning journey that, honestly, has led me to focus on things like Linux, varnish, nginx… as well as giving me the opportunity to take better care of my family and health: I haven't had all that time to dedicate to publishing work, but I'm by no means stopping thinking about The Worst Gospel and its proposal to promote the truth of the Scriptures, without mitigating circumstances.
I continue to observe all the evidence that the end times are taking shape and, before the Lord returns like a thief in the night, it is necessary that the prophesied reign of the Antichrist be consolidated not only in Brazil, but throughout the world.

Thank you for reading this far, and I hope that these efforts will allow me, very soon, to change the text block I add to the end of all publications. I still need all the collaboration possible: comments, shares, and reactions help to spread this content, which was entirely produced with the intention of contributing to the edification of the Body of Christ in the world.
