An Unusual Vision of Salvation

I don't care about arenas.
Whether it's bloody fights or football matches with rigged results, I have absolutely no interest in, nor do I waste my time on, such distractions—part of the "circus" that must be offered along with the breadcrumbs—that divert attention from the catastrophic actions promoted by politicians around the world.

SHOPPING...

I was shopping at a large supermarket and, while waiting for my wife, the many TV screens showed scenes of a violent fight; the amount of blood streaming down the fighters' faces only made me question the truth of that famous phrase: "sport is health"...

Suddenly, noticing the diversity of brands and products only possible under capitalism, I started to imagine what it would be like if not only "health," but also "humor," "spirit," "persistence," "hope"... were items available on the shelves of some market, and I soon developed an illustration where the owner of such an establishment could only be the Lord God himself.

Determined to simplify, improve, give more meaning, and bring ultimate redemption to existence, He accepted limiting His powers without thereby losing His authority: He removed any evidence of His magnitude and entered, in even humbler attire than any ordinary customer would wear, through the common door.

And the Word became flesh,
and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory,
like the glory of the only begotten of the Father,
full of grace and truth.

(John 1:14)

He was neither handsome nor friendly.,
It didn't have any beauty that caught our attention or pleased us.

(Isaiah 53:2b)

Even though He was responsible for all the provision, He took a cart, one of those whose wheels sometimes get stuck, and began His journey among the many people and shelves of life, facing difficulties and disdain, receiving and reacting to experiences and offerings — pain, hunger, tiredness, growth, cold, heat, the urge to go to the bathroom… — without ever resorting to the infinite power He possessed for His own benefit.

On the contrary, he was despised and rejected by men.,
He lived as a man of sorrows,
experienced all the suffering.
He walked like someone from whom his peers hide their faces,
was looked down upon,
And we didn't give him any importance whatsoever.

(Isaiah 53:3)

For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses,
But we have the High Priest who, like us, was tempted in every way,
but without any sin.

(Hebrews 4:15)

I could mention the time He encountered a charlatan who, despite having only a collapsible tent, still presents himself to everyone as if he were a competitor of the same caliber, but just as He simply chased that liar away, I will not highlight that occasion here either.
What almost no one realized is that, during His arduous journey, He carried with Him extraordinarily improbable items:

Early in the evening, they brought him many who were demon-possessed;
And with just a word, He drove out the spirits and healed all who were sick.
Thus was fulfilled what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah:
“"He took our infirmities upon himself and carried our diseases.".

(Matthew 8:16-17)

The most important battle in human history.

Despite his many accomplishments, the simple fact that he could not hide or deny his identity led him to the greatest battle that has ever occurred in the history of mankind: it was not any of the wars nor any event in which many people participated, but the singular struggle between one man and death.
Although the fighter was thrown into the arena without showing any reaction, I imagine there was as much or even more blood than what was shown in the images displayed on the big screens.

He was mistreated, humiliated, tortured;
However, he did not open his mouth;
He acted like a lamb led to the slaughter;
like a sheep that remains silent in the presence of its shearers
He didn't say a word.

(Isaiah 53:7)

But He, knowing beforehand that this whole process was necessary, had such a grand plan that almost no one, even some among the few With those who knew him, one could believe: subverting the laws of nature, transforming reality… allowing oneself to die undeniably in order to, only then, break the shackles of death!

YOUR OPPONENT, YOUR TOMBSTONE!

It would be like, in a fatal UFC fight, a battle where the victor would be petrified in an inescapable immobilization, for eternity: according to Jewish customs, three days were needed for death to be confirmed and never confused with narcolepsy or anything similar.

RESULT REVERSED

So He surrendered to death on Friday (the 1st day), spent the entire Saturday dead (the 2nd day), and on Sunday, the 3rd day, He simply began to use the fullness of His power and provided not only the removal of the enemy who had never been defeated by anyone, but also even a stone weighing several tons that supposedly prevented His exit from the tomb…

Where, O Death, is your victory?
Where, O Death, is your sting?

(1 Corinthians 15:55)

Even knowing they are useless, we wear, by force of law, these cotton masks that deceptively protect us from disease and death: we are living in visible training for the days when the Antichrist will reign, being subjected to the commands of stupid tyrants under the pretext that there is an interest in preserving our health…
I will not discuss here the wickedness of those who seek to achieve order after having themselves promoted chaos, but only comment on the disappearance of those fervent Christians who used to throw in everyone's face that "a true believer cannot be sick," based on... Isaiah 53:4 (cited above via Matthew 8:17).

KEEPING THE PROMISES

Indeed, the Lord Jesus Christ placed this item—the cure of all diseases—in the cart, as well as "the end of all tears," "the extinction of pain"... and even "the extermination of death"!
He filled the cart to the brim, sparing no expense, and on top of everything, he even included a voucher that serves as a bonus coupon to cover the full price of everything inside.

Truly, truly, I assure you:
If anyone obeys my word,
You will never experience death.

(John 8:51)

To avoid confusion, He, going far beyond any other man or demon who inspired religions, beat his own chest and declared:

Jesus explained to him:
“"I am the resurrection and the life.".
He who believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live;
And everyone who lives and believes in me will never die.
Do you believe that?”

(John 11:25-26)

After doing all that, he multiplied the carts in the same way he had done with bread and fish and went to wait for us there, right after the cashier who, coincidentally, is called "death".

And here I am, pandemic or not, moving towards finalizing these "purchases" that no one on their own has the resources or means to pay for.
I can't help but mention that you, whether you like it or not, are in the same line…

Thank you for reading this far, and I truly need any help you can offer: comments, shares, and reactions help spread this content, which was produced with the intention of contributing to the edification of the Body of Christ in the world.

Thanks to your donations I was able to acquire a hearing aid, even a second-hand one, for my right ear, pay for its adjustments, and since yesterday I have been communicating better with everyone and, especially, with my family!
But life goes on, and every January tends to be financially difficult because of taxes…

This is old Teóphilo Noturno writing, and I continue, against all odds, trying to present The Worst Gospel in the World.
I haven't finished shopping yet, I haven't finished fighting yet, but I'm wrapping up 2020 and I have countless reasons to thank the Lord God and you, my fellow readers: more than happiness, I wish you a year in the presence of the Father!

I often paraphrase the apostle Paul in Ephesians 6:23-24, But today, allow me to share the transcript of the passage I most long to hear in person:

And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying:
“"Behold, the tabernacle of God is now among men, and He will dwell with them.".
They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.
He will wipe away every tear from their eyes;
There will be no more death, nor mourning, nor crying, nor pain.,
because the old order is over!”

(Revelation 21:3-4)

I hope to see you there that day, just as I hope to see you here next year.
A fraternal hug.
