From the beginning of The Worst Gospel, I have avoided mixing accounts of my personal life with the teaching methods of the training I present, but reading the following passage—which refers to the dispersal of peoples throughout the world because of a work that was halted—reminded me of the period when, soon after graduating as an air traffic controller, I was assigned to spend five years in the city of Manaus.
(I acknowledge in advance that I have done many completely wrong things in this life, and only by the gracious mercy of the Lord have I not perished: perhaps to have time to recognize my mistakes, learn from them, and report them so that others do not have to experience as many catastrophes and follies as I have committed.).
Then the LORD came down to see the city and the tower that the sons of men were building;
(Genesis 11:5-9)
And the LORD said, “Behold, the people are one, and they all have one language;
And this is what they are beginning to do; and now, nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them.
Come, let us go down and confuse their language there, so that they will not understand each other.
So the LORD scattered them from there over the face of all the earth;
and they stopped building the city.
That is why its name was called Babel,
For there the Lord confused the language of all the earth.,
And from there the Lord scattered them over the face of all the earth.
The story I'm about to tell you took place between the ages of 19 and 21, a time when I lived at the most luxurious address of my life: apartment 501 in the Maximino Correa building!
Shall we get down to the facts?
EARTHQUAKE
The reality is that, alone and with the salary of a third sergeant, I wouldn't be able to cover all the costs, so I was always looking for another soldier with whom I could split the bills — rent, condo fees, water… — and, depending on the rapport, even the bulk of the food: it was a time when I even kept a mini-fridge in my room, which was always locked because of the impressive collection of imported CDs I once had, to avoid problems with food "disappearing".
One night, we were hanging out with two other friends—playing FIFA Soccer with a 4-controller adapter on a glorious Mega Drive!—when we noticed the living room chandelier starting to sway. I immediately turned to the one who was, after me, the tallest, and said:
— Neto, hey bro, stop stomping your foot on the ground, even the chandelier is shaking!! Soon one of the neighbors will complain!!
— What's that, man! I thought it was you swinging your legs!!
At that moment, the television, which was on a wheeled stand, began to slide, on its own, towards the wall, and only then did we realize that something very unusual was happening: either the building was collapsing or… it was an earthquake!
When we opened the door, the hallway was already packed with people rushing down in desperation, some from as far as the twentieth floor, crowding the stairs, and soon we were among them, half trying to run, half being carried along by that mass of people caught off guard—people with plates of food in their hands, naked people wrapping themselves in towels…—until we, survivors, emerged into the Congress Square.
At the time I hadn't yet understood the valuable lesson that "exile" was, and, thinking that I too would die there (as had happened to my brother), I didn't pay much attention to life: after about twenty minutes looking up and waiting for the building to collapse, when I saw that it was taking too long I decided to go up to save my precious… CD collection!!
Yes, dear readers, I myself was once extremely uncouth, and if you have any objection to this type of account, please don't hesitate to express yourself, because, however curious or amusing they may be, I write knowing that illustrations are merely accessory items.
The fact is that this experience allows me to say that I have a little familiarity with the feeling of having to flee from a tower, without even knowing where I was going: I — after safely transporting the suitcases with the CDs to the apartment (in a building of only 3 floors) of some friends who lived on the corner of 10 de Julho and Getúlio Vargas — was blessed to be able to return and, without major losses, live there until my last day in Manaus, but the people of Babel, who were many times more uncouth than I, ended up having to spread throughout the world… mainly because one of the most meticulous and comprehensive divine operations in human history took place there: the IDIOMATIC SPLIT!
I will not dwell on the possible geographical destinations of the individuals who later became nations, nor will I analyze social consequences such as, for example, the imperative emergence of diplomatic practices: I want to return to... End of previous post and address some aspects of
Old Testament relationship between humans and spirits.
Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed David in the presence of his brothers;
(1 Samuel 16:13-14 and 23)
And from that day forward the Spirit of the Lord came upon David;
Then Samuel got up and went back to Ramah.
And the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul,
And an evil spirit from the Lord tormented him.
(…)
And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul,
David would take the harp and play it with his hand;
Then Saul felt relief, and felt better.,
and the evil spirit departed from him.
I vividly remember many things, including the time when it wasn't yet Teóphilo, and I saw quite a few pastors using that exact passage to, always threateningly, suggest the possibility that our actions could cause the Spirit of the Lord to abandon us!
Dear friends, before proceeding, please read about the true Holy Spirit And understand that this type of threat is a testament to stupidity, bad character, or the most absolute and blatant disbelief in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose own words, in the following passage, destroy this pretext for manipulation and control:
On the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying:
(John 7:37-39)
If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink.
Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.
And this he said concerning the Spirit, which those who believed in him were to receive;
because the Holy Spirit had not yet been given,
because Jesus has not yet been glorified.
The Spirit left Saul simply because it had NOT YET BEEN GIVEN!!
A whole ritual of anointing with oil was necessary, like the one reported to have been performed on David among his brothers, so that He could have access to the very few chosen ones!
Unlike those kings and priests, the common people did not have access to the Spirit and depended on those leaders for everything… something that, after the glorification of the Lord Jesus Christ, was entirely reversed: the Spirit was given as a pledge of salvation and does not depart from those in whom it has, in fact, come to dwell.
This implies that any possessed creature may have spent years emulating Christian behavior, but never truly had the Holy Spirit dwelling within them!
But for the people of Babel the situation was even worse, because even the oil slick warning system hadn't been established and, literally, "things were getting out of hand"!!
The many biblical references to Babel and Babylon allow us to assume that it was there, from the beginning of human history, that demonic cults and rituals were established and, curiously and not by coincidence, spread throughout the world, becoming intrinsic to the behavior of peoples, being classified as "culture" and, therefore, preserved and disseminated through generations: often it is not even through religion that fallen spirits begin to influence enslaved souls…
“"Everything they intend to do..."”
I've heard some speculations that this "everything" that appears in the opening passage could even relate to the possibility of dominating and/or exterminating the Lord God himself, but regarding this, I would only like to emphasize that human beings are limited to the frequency of their reality, so this "everything" will also end up having its reach and consequences reflected upon matter.
And the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth.
(Genesis 6:5)
and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
If God depended on humanity for anything, that might be a cause for concern, but the worst thing humanity has the power to try to do is to distance itself from and erase God's records, as in so many series and stories where gods depend on and can even become extinct if they no longer have faithful followers to worship them.
Why do the nations rage, and the peoples plot in vain?
(Psalm 2:1-3)
The kings of the earth rise up, and the rulers band together against the Lord and against his Anointed One, saying:
Let us break their bonds and cast off their cords from us.
The crux of the matter is that all humanity can do without God... is cause itself harm and suffering: like a child with a sharp knife in its hands, the fact that it was prevented from realizing this intention at the beginning of time was only so that it would have time to grow, mature and, even with so many resources at its disposal, be unable to perfect itself in the direction of God.
On the contrary, as time goes on, the degradation only increases, and the same impulses from the beginning return disguised as revolution: one only needs to look at the growth of those seduced by the red doctrines, whose ideologue, Marx, openly admitted his hatred for the Creator and his desire to take revenge on Him.
While humanity continues to want the end of faith in the Lord God, all I really want is to pay the bills this month and be able to have a more peaceful end of the year: of the things that once brought me joy, I can no longer listen to music, I don't think it's wise to travel... is it too much to want to hold a thanksgiving dinner for having survived this past year?
My used hearing aids, which I received as a donation two years ago, are dying, as if the circuits were weakened and, certainly, corroded by my sweat: not just any hearing aid is suitable for my profound bilateral deafness.
I speak calmly about my troubles because it's true and because I'm certain I'm not doing the Lord's work fraudulently: even though the financial catastrophe that would have destroyed me has been averted, the daily and occasional expenses continue to pile up, and that's why I continue to accept donations.
In the first lesson, after all the destruction of the flood, a resolution was reached:
And the LORD smelled the pleasing aroma, and the LORD said in his heart:
(Genesis 8:21-22)
I will never again curse the ground because of man;
because the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth,
Nor will I again strike down every living creature as I have done.
As long as the earth endures,
sowing and reaping,
and cold and heat,
and summer and winter,
And day and night they will not cease.
The second time, at Babel, the Lord kept that vow and gave us another chance by diversifying languages and spreading them throughout the world.
Now that we are no longer "children" and even have Google Translate to allow us to once again unify around a "New World Order," the consequences of continuing to allow ourselves to be seduced by evil will be very different and far more drastic:
And he cried out mightily with a loud voice, saying:
(Revelation 18:2, 9-10, 21)
Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great, and she has become a dwelling place of demons.,
It is a haunt of every unclean spirit, a haunt of every unclean and detestable bird.
(…)
And the kings of the earth, who committed fornication with her and lived in luxury, will mourn her.,
And they will weep over her when they see the smoke of her burning;
Standing at a distance for fear of his torment, he said:
Woe! Woe to that great city of Babylon, that mighty city!
For in one hour your judgment has come.
(…)
And a mighty angel picked up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying:
With equal force Babylon, that great city, will be thrown down.,
and it will never be found.
This is old Teóphilo Noturno writing, and I continue, against all odds, trying to present The Worst Gospel in the World as training, a preparation for those who want to stay away from all the traps set to dominate human beings and make them slaves of this diabolical Babylon.
There's a very interesting promise for all those who manage to do this:
And the LORD of hosts will give on this mountain to all peoples.
(Isaiah 25:6-9)
a feast with fat animals, a feast of old wines,
with fatty marrow, and with old, well-purified wines.
And he will destroy on this mountain the covering that is spread over all peoples,
and the veil that covers all nations.
He will swallow up death forever, and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from all faces.,
and will remove the reproach of his people from all the earth;
Because the Lord has said so.
And on that day it will be said:
Behold, this is our God, for whom we have waited.,
and he will save us;
This is the Lord, whom we have awaited;
We will rejoice and be glad in His salvation.
My hope is to be able to meet all of you, those who love and seek to serve the Lord, at this barbecue like no other ever!
This post is already huge, and I'll only talk about the details of this magnificent event in the future, when I can discuss "THE BARBECUE PARADOX". In the next text of this series, we'll explore some possible destinations. post-Babel.
