David danced from Ephod…

Who hasn't heard smiling leaders saying that "Miriam danced," or others trying to justify some inappropriate exhibitionism by appealing to "David's ephod"?
When we begin to take the Scriptures seriously and dedicate ourselves to their study and understanding, we end up seeing details that are normally taken out of context and used as a pretext for introducing absolutely unnecessary—if not condemnable—practices into the event called "worship," which should be rationally offered to the Lord God…

The fact that the Bible is also a historical book may prevent many from understanding the necessary distinction between events strictly related to worship—that is, things that occurred within the New Testament tabernacle/temple/congregation—and accounts of daily life, customs, and traditions in Israel.

Since July 2005, I have been waiting for someone to show me a passage that recounts anyone dancing or clapping inside the Tabernacle, the Temple, or the New Testament congregation (hereinafter referred to simply as the congregation).
Miriam did dance, but in front of the Red Sea! Just look:

Then Miriam the prophetess, Aaron's sister, took a tambourine in her hand,
And all the women followed her with tambourines and dancing.
And Miriam answered them:
Sing to the Lord, for he has triumphed gloriously;
and threw the horse and its rider into the sea.

(Exodus 15:20-21 – ACF)

That was a long way from the Tabernacle, which, incidentally, didn't even exist!
In other words, the fact that Miriam and all the women danced was related to the unique joy of the entire people having been blessed with a miracle from God: an absolutely personal and non-transferable experience!
In the study published by Hélio de Menezes Silva It is explained that the Hebrew term for what Miriam did is “chîyl”, which means “dancing in a circular circle”: no technical steps, no ballet movements, jazz, animism… rehearsals, leaders and — a “small” detail that is extremely important, but absurdly and systematically ignored — NO MEN!!!
Moreover, the favorite passage that the boisterous dancers like to distort to justify their "ministry" is the one where David dances and plays before the ark:

So it happened that David and the elders of Israel and the captains of thousands went with joy to bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD from the house of Obed-Edom.
And it came to pass, when God helped the Levites who carried the ark of the covenant of the LORD, that they sacrificed seven bulls and seven rams.
David was wearing a robe of fine linen, as were all the Levites who carried the ark, and the singers, and Chenaniah, the master of the singers;
David also wore a linen ephod.,
And all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the LORD with shouting, and with the sound of trumpets, and with cymbals, making a loud noise with lutes and harps.
And it came to pass, when the ark of the covenant of the LORD came into the city of David, that Michal the daughter of Saul looked out at a window, and saw David dancing and playing; and she despised him in her heart.

First and foremost, we need to emphasize that the ark was UNIQUE and its current whereabouts are unknown.
Next, note that the Hebrew term for David's action is "“râqad”, which means “to take great leaps; burst with joy.”.
And finally, a brief reflection allows us to conclude that... the ark was neither the place of worship itself nor was it inside the Temple!!!

On one occasion, back when I was participating in debates on online platforms, I had the displeasure of encountering a "leader of prophetic worship”"saying that David would be wearing only his underwear in that episode!"

The fact that David and the Levites were dressed in fine linen robes in no way means that they were only wearing underwear or transparent robes; quite the contrary: does a functionally illiterate person like that—who insists on flaunting the title of "leader"!—not know that the term "fine" can refer to both thickness and quality?

Prophetic Worship

I don't want to imagine what "éfode" means in that creature's mind, and I'm afraid of how they might dress if invited to an event where the dress code is "smart casual"... and I keep wondering what's being taught in the seminars, because it's certainly not Portuguese, let alone Greek, and even less Hebrew!
This is a perfect example of the catastrophe that... functional illiteracy has brought about the gospel.

Most references to dancing in the Bible apply to worshippers of other “gods,” but I did find a reference to someone jumping into the Temple: in Acts 3: a man — lame from birth — who was healed and, therefore, entered the temple “walking, leaping, and praising God” (verse 8)!
But this does not disprove any of my previous statements: her leaps testified to the miraculous healing she received… there is no subsequent mention of other leaps or jumps within the temple, therefore this occurrence was recorded as an exception to the rule.

In relation to dance, the Hebrew term relating to the passages of Psalm 149:3 e Psalm 150:4 it is“male”, whose meaning I transcribe below:

…derives from a root that simply means “turn” and can mean to spin happily on a wheel.
The classic and excellent Revised and Corrected Edition of the Bible acknowledges that, depending on the context, male It can also be a flute that plays in circles;
Clement of Alexandria—who, in 190 AD, was a far better Hebraist than anyone since the Middle Ages—translates the word in Psalm 150:4 as “choral-echo,” that is, “choir that responds in echo” (see “The Instructor, Fathers of the Church,” p. 130).

After careful research, I can affirm that the existence of dance teams or "ministries" is nothing more than pure nonsense to fill church organizations: if dancing appeals to young people, so does eating chocolate!
Neither is a sin, but it makes absolutely no sense to create a "ministry of chocolate eaters"!
Dance has no power whatsoever, and its overestimated "expressiveness" ends up introducing movements into religious practices—which should be rational—that are only comparable to the dances of African, shamanistic, etc., rituals.

We can safely conclude that, throughout the entire Scriptures, THERE WAS NEVER ANY DANCING INSIDE PLACES OF WORSHIP!

NEITHER IN A WHITE FORM NOR IN UNDERWEAR!
If dance is your best offering to God,
Maybe you're on the same list.
