Deadly Letters

Who Will the Letter Kill?

The Bible is not composed solely of laws, but also of historical narratives and prophetic revelations: just as serious as idolizing the paper and ink that make up its "material body" is wanting to preach and teach without understanding the chronological aspects characteristic of each period of the human journey, from the beginning to the end of Creation.

OLD TESTAMENT

To say that the Old Testament is outdated and should be ignored is a serious mistake, because in it we can learn about the prophecies and the accuracy with which they were fulfilled, especially in relation to the Lord Jesus Christ, serving as a validator of the Scriptures as a whole.
We also find accounts of various historical episodes that can perfectly serve as examples of faith for our personal lives, but… wanting to bring and reproduce elements of the old law in the time of grace is something that ends up denying the ministry of the Son of God!

Follow examples of faith, never ritualism!

Given that in the Old Testament NO ONE had the Holy Spirit, the rituals, hierarchies, and actions performed are in no way a parameter of genuine Christian behavior, that is, someone who has converted by believing in Jesus Christ and, through this, has received the Holy Spirit in their life.

DISCERNMENT

If in the previous publication I highlighted the uselessness of the “biblical altars“"I have now decided to revise and update this text (originally published on October 24, 2005) in response to the absurd phrases that have been constantly sprouting up in reality and on the internet since then:"
— When I see pastors or brothers saying that one doesn't need to go to the mountain, in my opinion, it's a strong indication that they have already died spiritually or The lyrics are killing him..
A person who is spiritually crippled will always seek a crutch based on biblical principles to continue living in sin.

I took the liberty of highlighting the passages that most astonished me, discovering that there are people capable of calling themselves Christian even without believing in the Word of God and, even worse, daring to classify it as a "crutch" or "murderous"!
Far from being mocking, I feel deep sadness at the behavior of these people and, out of Christian love, I have decided to prepare a good response in the only way God allows: using my "crutch".

Of course, I had heard before that "the letter kills," but I didn't pay it much attention because I didn't believe there was any Christian capable of disregarding biblical authority: this is a completely erroneous and misguided statement because it is based on a passage from the Bible absurdly taken out of its original context to justify the madness of the creators of an empirical gospel, where personal experiences are made more important than the word inspired by God himself.
Perhaps transcribing the entire chapter would be appropriate to allow for a better understanding of the subject matter:

Have we begun praising ourselves again?
Or do we need, like some, letters of recommendation for you, or a recommendation from you?
You are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everyone.
For it is evident that you are a letter from Christ, delivered by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God.,
Not on tablets of stone, but on the tablets of the heart.
And it is through Christ that we have such confidence in God;
Not that we are capable, by ourselves, of thinking anything, as of ourselves;
but our ability comes from God,
Which also made us capable of being ministers of a new testament,
not of the letter, but of the spirit;
Because the letter kills, but the spirit gives life.

And if the ministry of death, engraved in letters on stone, came with glory,
so that the Israelites could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of its glory, which was fading away.,
How much more glorious will the ministry of the Spirit be?
For if the ministry of condemnation was glorious, how much more glorious is the ministry of righteousness!.

(2ⁿᵈ Corinthians 3:1-9 – ACF)

Please read the text above very carefully… paying particular attention to the highlighted passage: the “letter” in question is clearly revealed as the laws of the Old Testament, written on tablets of stone — as mentioned in verses 3 and 7 — and by no means the entire body of text that constitutes the integrity of the Bible!
So much so that we are "capable of being ministers of a new testament" and to expose the great error that are the attempts to apply the Jewish law to the converted gentiles There are already several texts on this site.

The variation is that some leaders, clearly or maliciously incapable of grasping the full scope of the text, were "brilliant" and created yet another absurd apostate doctrine that people hear about, believe, and repeat without even bothering to compare it with the biblical text:

After all — and usually accompanied by the permissive "do not judge" — what good is it to act like a Berean and confront anything (preaching, doctrine, or behavior) with the Scriptures... if "the letter kills"?

PART OF A WHOLE

In fact, "The Letter" is one of the terms used to refer to the Scriptures because it is contained within them, but the entirety of the work goes far beyond Israelite legislation.
The very author of the text from which the phrase "the letter kills" was extracted (and subverted) instructed his spiritual son, Timothy, on how to acquire wisdom for salvation:

But you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it,
And that from your childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures,
that can make you wise for salvation,
through faith that is in Christ Jesus.
All Scripture is God-breathed,
and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness;
In order for the man of God to be perfect,
and perfectly instructed for every good work.

(2ⁿᵈ Timothy 3:14-17 – ACF)

The emphasis is mine, but this text highlights that the Scriptures (the entire Bible) are much more than the Letter (the set of Israelite laws):

Unlike mechanical and inattentive reading, the meticulous study and correct application of the Scriptures can never serve as a "crutch" for sinners, but rather as the only legitimate source of wisdom for salvation.

The Lord Jesus Christ himself made several quotations highlighting the truth, validity, and fulfillment of God's word: do not be afraid to handle this "deadly" book and please verify the texts in Matthew 21:42, 22:29 e 26:54-56; Mark 14:49; John 5:39, 8:30-59, 15:7 e 17!
To make it easier, I'll quote a short passage here:

Jesus therefore said to them Jews who believed in him:
If you abide in my word, You will truly be my disciples;
And you will know the truth, and The truth will set you free..

(John 8:31-32 – ACF)

Few Jews believed in Jesus, so much so that, faced with Pilate's "democracy," the majority—systematically enslaved by the letter of the law—opted for his crucifixion…
Currently, we can find a Judaizing discourse that Jesus Christ was a rabbi, but this only reveals the lust for power and greed of those who persist in trying to enslave Jews and Gentiles under the weight of the ancient Scriptures and even under strict pronunciations of Hebrew names as the "secret key" to salvation.

Thus, The law has become our guardian. in order to lead us to Christ,
so that we might be justified through faith.
Now, however, Having come to faith, We are no longer subject to that tutor..
For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.

(Galatians 3:24-26 – KJA)

Leading, but... where to?

Many people come to this topic thinking:
I don't believe my leader, this holy, immaculate angel, would teach that "the letter kills" without a solid basis for his claims... there has to be somewhere else where it's clearly stated that the experiences we live through should be the foundation of our knowledge of God and our relationship with Him...

If this paragraph sounds like what you're thinking, know that your distress will only increase from here on out, because your search is futile: there is simply no biblical passage that supports such a line of reasoning, and anyone who seeks God's revelation outside of Scripture and through personal experiences is simply going against the entire word of God!
The same person who wrote "the letter kills," the apostle Paul, proves this to us:

I am shocked that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel—which is really no gospel at all.
What is happening is that some people are confusing you, with the aim of corrupting the Gospel of Christ.
However, Even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be accursed.!
As I have already revealed to you before, I declare once again:
Anyone who preaches a gospel other than the one you received to you, let them be accursed!

(Galatians 1:6-9 – KJA)

Given this, is it possible to understand the gravity of the situation faced by those who are distorting the biblical text?
Anyone who accuses the word of God of "killing" as a pretext to encourage the pursuit of spiritual knowledge through subjective experiences... is a damned person.

The Bible simply doesn't have a special category of "blameless beings."“Anyone—pastor, bishop, elder, priest, pope, Paul himself, or even an angel from heaven!—who alters the content of Scripture is nothing but a damned person!

If in the time of Letters the individual depended exclusively on the anointed ones—priests, prophets, and kings—to know what God wanted, in grace the Holy Spirit It was distributed in a multifaceted manner among ALL THOSE WHO BELIEVE, with the common function of referring them to the Scriptures:

But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name,
He will teach you all things.,
and you It will remind you of everything I have told you.
(…)
And when they bring you before the synagogues, the magistrates, and the authorities, do not worry about how or what you should defend yourselves or what you should say.
Because at the same time The Holy Spirit will teach you what you should say..

(John 14:26 / Luke 12:11-12 – ACF)

Pay attention because something can only be REMEMBERED if it has been previously known, just as the responsibility for uttering such answers will be completely individual, that is, the most diverse people, in the most diverse places in the world and through the many possible languages that exist… will speak of the same, unique and powerful word of God!

To clarify any doubts regarding possible discordant speeches under the pretext of "revelation" or something similar to a display of power, the apostle Simon Peter appears in our study:

Knowing this first:
what No prophecy of Scripture is of private interpretation..
Why Prophecy never came by the will of man., But holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

(2ⁿᵈ Peter 1:20-21 – ACF)

This means that true prophecies can in no way add to, modify, or much less contradict what is recorded in the Scriptures: this passage simply destroys a multitude of modern prophets who act by displaying supposed powers with the aim of appearing, just like the anointed ones of the Old Testament, as "exclusive channels" of divine communication, further distancing the ignorant from the Word so that, with their influence, they can enjoy obscene social and financial benefits.

SENTENCE OF FORFEITURE

If ALL biblical prophecies were inspired by God… then how can someone who claims to be holy speak against God's own word?
How can someone who claims to serve Jesus Christ assert that divinely inspired Scripture is killing anyone?
How can a Christian call the Bible—which is profitable for teaching, correcting, and training in righteousness—a "crutch"?!?

But, in search of a gospel more advantageous than the original and for the convenience of paying someone to study the Bible for them, people always prefer the path of the wide gate, choosing to swallow the bittersweet regurgitated ration rather than the wholesome food.

And there were also false prophets among the people,
just as there will be false teachers among you,
who will secretly introduce destructive heresies,
and they will deny the Lord who redeemed them,
bringing sudden destruction upon themselves.
E Many will follow their dissolutions.,

Because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed.
And through covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words;
Regarding those for whom judgment will soon be passed,
and their destruction does not slumber.

(2ⁿᵈ Peter 2:1-3 – ACF)

If false prophets existed in the literal text, where they should have been stoned to death, how much more so now, in Grace, when their actions have been prophesied.
It is also inevitable that MANY will believe in their deceptions, and it will be these—and not the wicked!—who will blaspheme the way of truth!
There are so many self-proclaimed "Christians" with their sentences of damnation already defined, that I am saddened to realize that many of them are alive, here and now, even calling themselves "brothers"...

I wish I could suggest to these people the example of the Bereans, who, even after hearing Paul and Silas's messages directly, still compared them to the text of Scripture: they dared to judge two apostles not according to appearance, but according to sound doctrine… and for that reason they received praise immortalized in Scripture!

So, as soon as night fell, the brothers sent Paul and Silas to Berea.
Upon arriving there, they went to the local synagogue.
Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and devoted themselves to the daily study of the Scriptures, with the purpose of to assess whether everything corresponded to the truth.

(Acts 17:10-11 – KJA)

CHRISTIANS,
We need to have a serious conversation about...

JUDGMENT AND VERDICT

CONCLUSION

Now, online pastoral schools have sprung up, and if even traditional seminaries have been contaminated by politically correct ideological manipulation, I already feel chills at the "high level" of these "instant noodle pastors": leaders ready to abandon the firmness found in the word of God and go in search of "revealing experiences" based on deceiving human feelings and emotions.

I am certain that the Bereans were far more trustworthy than these many pseudo-pastors who spring up by the thousands: each with their “brilliant idea,” their “proven methods” for “growing churches,” their ecclesiastical franchises obedient to Caesar first and foremost…

These are certainly the leaders who, while continuing to collect tithes, ensure that "the letter kills"; that "in mountaintops That's when you feel the power of God”; that “we should pray at dawn because the line is shorter”; posting on the internet that “this week God will be intervening in your life” (without even knowing who will be reading it). prophecy...and other absurdities that lead thousands of self-proclaimed Christians to fulfill the prophecy of blaspheming the way of truth because they are firmly convinced of the deception in which they live.

HERE'S YOUR CHANCE TO FIND OUT TOO
Brian Anderson's valuable study:

TITHE vs. GIVE

The one whose coming is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders,
And with all the deceit of unrighteousness for those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved.
That's why God will send them the operation of error.,
so that they may believe the lie;
So that all may be judged who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

(2ⁿᵈ Thessalonians 2:9-12 – ACF)

It is the Lord God himself who is sending the operation of error, and indeed, the Letter will kill, but only those who did not believe the truth—revealed sufficiently in the Scriptures—to be saved.

It is unlikely, if ever, that any church-related company will allow its employees to discuss this topic.
I recommend the text by Raniere Menezes This is recommended as supplementary reading, as it addresses the fanaticism and ecstasy presented under the guise of "gospel" and "evangelical" in our country.
